Milstead Church Memorial & The Sebastopol Monument

Milstead Church, Kent

During the 1935-45 war 1/5th Queen's had their Battalion Headquarters in the village of Milstead, near Sittingbourne, Kent.

 

On 10th December, 1950, the officers of the 1/5th Queen's presented an oak chest to the church, It bears a small tablet engraved with the Regimental crest and inscription:
"This chest with some of the hymn books war presented by Officers of the 1/5th Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment who during the 1941 and 1942 worshipped in this church."
