6^th Volunteer Bn The Queen's Regiment formed from the cadres of 6^th and 10^th Territorial Bns The Queen's Regiment, the Greater London Regiment RA, the London and Kent Regiment RA and the Surrey Yeomanry (Queen Mary's Regiment)

7^th Volunteer Battalion formed from cadres of 7^th, 8^th and 9^th Territorial Bns The Queen's Regiment

1975

6^th and 7^th Volunteer Bns The Queen's Regiment amalgamated to form the 6^th/7^th Bn The Queen's Regiment

The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires)

1992

On the amalgamation of the Queen's and The Royal Hampshire Regiment, the title of the regiment became The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires). The two territorial units became the 5^th Bn PWRR and 6/7^th Bn PWRR.

1999

The Strategic Defence Review reduced the Territorial Army and the 5^th and 6/7^th Bns merged to become 3^rd Bn The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (TA).
