Colonel R F Few DSO TD

Commanded 5^th Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment from April 1920 to January 1924.

Robert Febb Few was born on 31^st August 1876 and was educated at Marlborough. He was commissioned in 2^nd Volunteer Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment and served in the Boer War.

In the 1914-18 War he served in Gallipoli as second-in-command of the 2/4^th Battalion and was awarded the DSO and was Mentioned in Despatches.

In April 1920 he was appointed to raise and command the 5^th Battalion on its re-formation and commanded it until January 1924.

He was a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Surrey from 1925 to 1946. He was most interested in rifle shooting and was an International Shot. From 1920 to 1952 he was Secretary of the Territorial Army Rifle Association.

He died on 24^th August 1965 and was buried on the 31^st August the day he would have reached his 89^th birthday.
