Colonel R F Few DSO TDCommanded 5th Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment from April 1920 to January 1924.

Robert Febb Few was born on 31st August 1876 and was educated at Marlborough. He was commissioned in 2nd Volunteer Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment and served in the Boer War.

In the 1914-18 War he served in Gallipoli as second-in-command of the 2/4th Battalion and was awarded the DSO and was Mentioned in Despatches.

In April 1920 he was appointed to raise and command the 5th Battalion on its re-formation and commanded it until January 1924.

He was a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Surrey from 1925 to 1946. He was most interested in rifle shooting and was an International Shot. From 1920 to 1952 he was Secretary of the Territorial Army Rifle Association.

He died on 24th August 1965 and was buried on the 31st August the day he would have reached his 89th birthday.
