Colonel DB PullenCommanded 3rd Bn The Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment from August 1963 to April 1967.

Brian Pullen was 'called up' in the first Militia ‘Intake in October 1939 and posted to 6th Bn The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. He attended No.164 OCTU in June 1940 and in October was commissioned in The Beds and Herts and posted to the 9th Battalion. In November 1943 he was seconded to The King's African Rifles and posted to the 5th Battalion and held various staff appointments in Africa. In 1945 he attended the Staff College, Quetta after which he was appointed DAQMG East Africa Command. He was demobilised in May 1947. In 1948 he joined the Territorial Army and was a Staff Captain (Q) at HQ Wessex Division. In 1952 he joined 5th Bn The Gloucestershire Regiment (TA) and in 1957 transferred to 6th (Bermondsey) Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment. On amalgamation in 1961 he became second-in-command of 3rd Bn The Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment and commanded that Battalion from August 1963 to April 1967.

He was made an OBE in 1967. In 1968 he was promoted Colonel at HQ London District and retired from the Territorial Army in 1971.

He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in Greater London in 1972.
