1842-1846: First Sikh War

 

1845
	31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment
18th December	Battle of Moodkhee.
21st - 22nd December	Battle of Ferozeshah.

 

The Other Rank’s shako plate, a Field Officer’s sword with brass scabbard and an Adjutant’s sword with steel scabbard.
An Officer’s sash and a Sergeant’s sash now without the three facing coloured stripes.
Two epaulettes for the frock coat ; the left one for a Company Officer and the other for a Field Officer.
Below is a cord epaulette from an Officer’s shell jacket.

 

Battle of Ferozshah, (2nd Day) 22 December, 1845.

21st January	Action at Badowal.
28th January	Battle of Aliwal.
10th February	Battle of Sobraon.
22nd February	Capture of Lahore.
March	Embarked for England.
