Lieutenant General Daniel Jones
1777-1790
Daniel Jones is recorded as a Lieutenant in the 3rd Foot Guards from 1749 to 1750.
He then is shown as Captain and Lieutenant Colonel, on 7th November 1759; Brevet Colonel 3rd November 1769. Appointed Colonel, 2nd The Queen's on 12th August 1777. Promoted Major General (in America only) 1st January, then Major General on the 29th August 1777; 19th February 1779, Lieutenant General.
He died on the 20th November 1793 and is buried in Sandersted Parish Churchyard, Surrey.
